Does my conversation data leave my browser?
Never. Every export — PDF, Word, Markdown, Screenshot, ZIP — is generated entirely inside your browser using bundled libraries. No conversation content is uploaded or processed remotely, not even temporarily. The only external request the extension ever makes is Pro license validation, which sends only an encrypted device fingerprint, never your chat content.

What is project export and how does it work?
ChatGPT and Claude let you organise your work into Projects — folders that group multiple conversations. Project export (Pro exclusive) fetches every conversation in a project, downloads every file attachment and AI-generated artifact, and packages everything into a single labelled ZIP archive automatically. No other exporter on the Chrome Web Store supports this.
Can I choose which messages to export?
Yes. ChatExport AI adds a checkbox to every message in the conversation. You can select all, deselect a few, or hand-pick exactly the exchanges worth keeping — then export only those. The export counter at the bottom of the sidebar updates in real time as you select.
Does it work with ChatGPT Teams or Enterprise?
Yes — ChatExport AI works with all ChatGPT tiers including Free, Plus, Teams, and Enterprise. It automatically detects your workspace from the page data, URL, or session cookies, so no manual configuration is ever required. It also works with all Claude plans on claude.ai, all Gemini tiers, and every other supported platform.
Does it preserve math formulas and LaTeX?
Yes. Since v1.1, math formulas rendered by ChatGPT or Claude are extracted as raw LaTeX and included in all exports. In HTML exports, KaTeX is bundled and inlined so formulas render visually — no internet connection required. In Markdown exports, formulas are preserved using standard $...$ and $$...$$ delimiters ready for any Markdown renderer that supports math.
How do I cancel my Pro subscription?
Pro subscriptions are managed through LemonSqueezy. You can cancel anytime directly from the billing email you received at purchase — no login required. After cancellation you keep Pro access until the end of the current billing period, then revert to the free plan automatically.
What permissions does the extension need and why?
The extension requests: scripting (to inject the export sidebar into AI chat pages), storage (to save your license key, settings, and local knowledge base), clipboardWrite (to copy export content), debugger (for high-quality PDF rendering), cookies (for Notion sync authentication), declarativeNetRequest (for Notion API integration), and alarms (for auto-cleanup of expired data).
